I will be uploading pictures of my instruments, our Gatherings, and anything else that might be of interest. Please stay tuned.

This flute has a "Given" name... "She".

Below is my Sub Bass E from Earth Tone Flutes.
I am considering a Sub Bass B which makes this one look like a toothpick.

My Ancient Kauri Wood Mid E from Earth Tone Flutes just arrived. The piece of ancient Kauri wood used for the flute
grew for over 2000 years in New Zealand before being buried in peat bogs at the end of the last Ice Age. With the absence
of oxygen, an anaerobic bacterium consumes starches within the cells of the wood, turning the resins into fossilized amber.
There is a dwindling supply of this wood being unearthed in New Zealand and the supply is expected to be gone within 10
years or so. The block of wood that this flute emerged from was carbon dated and certified to be at least 50,000 years old
by 5 independent laboratories. Granted, carbon dating is not an exact science, but lets us suffice it to say that it is OLD!
The sound that pours forth from it is haunting and ancient..

Below is a shot of some of my other flutes, ranging from Bass Drones to various keys accross the minor scale.
The curley redwood on the third from the left was my first flute from Earth Tone Flutes. It is also my favorite flute.

More pictures to come. I have an assortment of Anasazi flutes, Hawaiian nose flutes, Chinese Dizi flutes,
as well as various percussion instruments like the Udu, percussion frog, and various rattles and Native American styles drums.
